History
The Grove End Charitable Trust was established and registered with the Charity Commission in 2025. The Trust is the new charitable arm of Grove End Housing Ltd, itself established in 1967 with a social purpose and continuing the wider philanthropic legacy of the housing pioneer, Sir John Mactaggart (1867 – 1956).
Grove End Housing Ltd has for many years dedicated some of its financial surpluses to making a valued contribution towards charitable trusts and other good causes in London and in the rest of the United Kingdom. Over the past few years nearly 50 charities in the UK have received donations direct from Grove End Housing Ltd. As the company plans to continue its charitable giving programme, it made sense to establish an endowed Charitable Trust as the appropriate organisation to take responsibility for and to administer this programme.
The Grove End Charitable Trust makes donations each year to various UK and non-UK registered charities as decided and agreed by its Trustees, in accordance with its charitable giving policy.
The Grove End Charitable Trust does not accept unsolicited applications for donations.
